PMRJ produces and distributes approximately 250 items of official reference standards represented by the Japanese Pharmacopoeia Reference Standards (except the reference standards for antibiotics). These reference standards are used in official tests and assays prescribed in the official compendia such as the Japanese Pharmacopeia, and contribute to ensure and improve the qualities of pharmaceuticals by providing a basis for certification of reliability and objectivity of the tests and assays.
